It’s Rajnikanth Vs. Akshay Kumar In A Mind-Blowing CGI Fest: 2.0 Teaser Out!

Back in 2010, Rajnikanth surprised us in the role of a scientist and his robotic doppelganger in Enthiran. Ever since, the audience has been eager for more. And the anticipation took a new high after the announcement of a sequel, the teaser for which is out now. Finally, we get a glimpse of this much awaited sci-fi marvel- 2.0, starring Akshay Kumar in the evil-most character of his career.

The fascinating teaser opens with tens of crows circling a corpse suspended from an electricity pole. Following the chilling shot, the camera zooms in on dumbstruck people whose cellphones mysteriously start disappearing as if pulled by a magnet! In true Hollywood fashion, the animated phones begin acting as mysterious weapons as a giant bird wreaks havoc on the town.

We also get to see Akshay Kumar controlling the birds and the phones. His most anticipated look stands out throughout the teaser hovering on the ceiling and haunting the streets.

In order to save the day, the robot Chitti from the earlier film is re-assembled and we get to witness a series of awe-inspiring CGI battle scenes headed by the two superstars. While Rajnikanth reprises his roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti, Akshay Kumar appears as Dr. Richard aka Crow, a scientist with mysterious superpowers and an equally mysterious agenda.

2.0 is created on a massive ₹540 Cr. budget. The stunning visual effects and intriguing concepts heighten the overall appeal of this epic sequel. Over 15 studios from across the globe have simultaneously worked on different portions that come together as this VFX extravaganza.

An S. Shankar directorial, 2.0 also stars Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in pivotal roles. Although the teaser doesn’t give much insight into their characters, we do see their faces amidst all the chaos. Produced by Lyca Productions, the film is more of a stand-alone sequel with little connect to Enthiran.
