Movie lovers are keenly waiting for the release of Tiger Zinda Hai, the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster, Ek Tha Tiger. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the movie features superstar Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif reprising their roles as Tiger and Zoya, respectively. This time, the story of these two secret agents takes a leap of 8 years as they are up for a new mission.
Fans are already cheering up for Salman and Katrina’s return to the screen after 5 years. The duo of Ali Abbas Zafar and Salman Khan is another reason why people are looking forward to the movie. Their last collaboration Sultan smashed the box office records and was a path-breaking movie for Yash Raj Films.
In Sultan, the actor-director duo along with Anushka Sharma successfully brought to life the heart-warming story of Sultan Ali Khan and Aarfa. Based on the backdrop of wrestling, the movie was content oriented. It beautifully captured the highs and lows in the life of an ordinary man whose story was extra ordinary. The script was a welcome change for Bollywood where the female lead actually talked about women emancipation, beautifully supported by the hero.
Ali Abbas Zafar has proved himself as a phenomenal director who loves to experiment. His debut film, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan was a rom-com with a fresh take on love. His second movie Gunday brought him laurels as he impeccably carved the story of two bandits played by Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. The 2016 sports drama Sultan emerged as a winner all over. Ali is a powerhouse of talent who understands his audience very well. This Dehradun boy never goes overboard in his movies. His characters are well written and have shades which he unravels with a sync to his stories.
While Sultan was a blend of emotions, drama, action and love rooted in the soil of India, Tiger Zinda Hai is going to be very different. It has a global appeal to it with classic chase and action sequences. The look and feel of the movie is at par with Hollywood.
The expectations of critics and audience are top notch high from the movie. The trailer clearly hinted that the action-drama will be driven by a strong story along with high octane action sequences. The weight of directing the second edition of huge film after delivering Sultan sits heavily on Ali Abbas Zafar’s shoulders. While Salman has the power to pull crowds towards the theater, it is going to be Ali’s story and direction that will retain them for a longer period.
After Tiger Zinda Hai, Salman and Ali Abbas Zafar are ready for their third collaboration which has been announced. Titled Bharat, the film is an official adaptation of a Korean film that begins in 1947 and ends in 2000. Produced by Salman’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, Bharat is scheduled to release on Eid 2019. Just a few days are left to see how the audience welcomes the second collaboration of this spectacular duo. Will they repeat the success of Sultan? Find out in cinemas.
