Labelled as the greatest betrayal of Indian bloody battle history, Panipat promises to be an exhilarating ride. Curious about what transpired in what is regarded as one of the largest battles of the 18th century, read on to know the real story of the battle!
Rise of Sadashiv Rao Bhau
Nephew of the great Maratha warrior ‘Peshwa Bajirao’, Sadashiv was born in 1730 and was brought up by his aunt Kashibai. At the age of 16, he undertook his first campaign and won his first battle capturing a total of 36 parganas for the Marathas. In subsequent years, upon conquering several regions and crushing many revolts, he also won the fort of Daulatabad but as the news of Ahmad Shah Abdali’s march towards Delhi reached the Marathas, the war council decided to send Sadashivrao north in order to resist the Afghans. With the talented Arjun Kapoor portraying the role of Sadashiv in Panipat, the movie could become the highest-grossing film of the actor.Sadashiv Rao Bhau – Bravery Is To Stand For What You Believe In, Even If You Stand Alone.
