8 Movies To Look Forward To In October

Action, emotion, drama, comedy, romance or fantasy – outstanding october has got it all. An ardent Hrithik fan or an admirer of Megastar Chiranjeevi, waiting for Piggy Chops to return to Bollywood or a devotee of the menacing Joker, we all have a reason to celebrate because our wait is over. It is going to be a blockbuster month for the movie buffs as all of our favorite stars and the most awaited movies are arriving in cinemas this October which we cannot afford to miss AT ANY COST! So, without any further ado, let’s dig straight into the movies to look forward to in October 2019. 

1. War (2 October, 2019)

  Produced by Yash Raj Films, the film is a high octane action drama starring Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles. While Hrithik is collaborating with YRF after a span of 13 years post Dhoom 2, this is Tiger’s first venture with one of the earnest studios of Indian cinema. The plot focuses on an army man tasked with eliminating his mentor who has gone rogue, leading to a face off between the duo. With two of the most explosive dancers sharing the screen space for the first time, the film boasts of incredible dance-offs and high voltage fight sequences.

2. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy (2 October, 2019)

  A biographical drama set prior to the India’s first war of Independence in 1857, it features the Megastar Chiranjeevi in the titular role of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, a freedom fighter who revolted along with 5000 peasants against the East India Company  in 1846. Also featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Kiccha Sudeep, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia in prominent roles, the film promises to be an epic action saga about the unsung hero from Kurnool.

3. Joker (2 October, 2019)

  Starring Oscar nominee Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role, this psychological-thriller is the origin story of Joker, one of the most famous anti-heroes of our pop-culture. Labelled as a low-budget character study, the movie attempts to understand the layered journey and psyche of an unsuccessful stand-up comedian named Arthur Fleck who became one of the most frightening comic-book legends of all time. With the impeccable Phoenix leading the way under the direction of Todd Philips, the movie promises to deliver a riveting standalone story never seen before on the big screen.

4. The Sky Is Pink (11 October , 2019)

  Inspired by true events, the film is an incredible love story of a couple over a span of 25 years told from the perspective of their spunky teenage daughter, played by Zaira Wasim, who is diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Starring Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra as the couple, this film marks the return of Piggy Chops to Indian cinema after 3 years. Touching upon the themes of family, love, and hope, the film is a heartwarming tale about the magic of life and beauty of death.

5. Laal Kaptaan (18 October, 2019)

  Set during a tumultuous era of Indian history, this epic revenge drama revolves around two warring brothers, one of whom played by the versatile Saif Ali Khan chooses the life of a Naga monk. Helmed by the masterful Navdeep Singh, director of critically acclaimed films such as “Manorama: Six Feet Under” and “NH10”, the movie is loaded with gripping action sequences and intriguing characters. Slated to release between Dussehra and Diwali, this blood-soaked story of drama, revenge, and deceit is a must watch for everyone.

6. Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil (18 October, 2019)

  A sequel to 2014’s dark-fantasy film Maleficent, this fantasy-adventure starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning is set five years after the events of the first film. An epic journey in the magical world filled with emotions, surprises and adventures, the plot focuses on exploring the complex relationship between the titular horned fairy and the soon-to-be queen Aurora as they find themselves on opposite sides of an impending war.

7. Made In China (25 October, 2019)

  Starring Rajkummar Rao, Boman Irani and Paresh Rawal in lead roles, this comedy drama revolves around a struggling young entrepreneur from Gujarat. Dejected by his failures, he soon moves to China for better prospects and to pitch his unique business idea of a soup which could improve people’s sex life. Based on the novel of the same name, the film promises to be a laugh riot.

8. Housefull 4 (25 October, 2019)

Fourth installment in the Housefull series, the film is labelled as an epic re-incarnation comedy starring an ensemble cast which includes Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon and Bobby Deol. With all the actors in a double role, essaying the present and past versions of themselves, the movie promises to entertain the audiences with an overdose of madness this Diwali.
