Loved Delhi Belly? Here’s Kaalakaandi: Another Insane Comedy Coming Your Way!

In 2011, writer Akshat Verma came up with a dark comedy that revolved around three roommates leading a debt-ridden life in a shady apartment in Delhi. The madly crazy film was titled Delhi Belly. The movie became a rage and Akshat Verma became a sensation. Right from Delhi Belly, the audience were waiting for his next movie. Seven years later, the impeccable writer is turning director with Kaalakaandi. Ever since the trailer of the movie was released, the audience can’t contain their excitement about the movie. The trailer has got oodles of entertainment, fun and some brilliant dialogues apart from a totally different avatar of Saif Ali Khan. 

The movie also stars Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Sobhita Dhulipala and Deepak Dobriyal. Kaalakaandi is an adventurous ride full of thrill and comedy. The movie revolves around Saif Ali Khan’s character who is diagnosed with stomach cancer. His doctor advises him of going all out and doing whatever he wanted to in life. This is when the real Kaalakaandi begins. It broadly talks of hope, greed, love and lust- through different characters and their stories. With the tagline of “Every action has a reaction”, the movie promises to be a unique and hilarious entertainer.

Delhi Belly was set in the capital, Akshat Verma shifts his focus to Mumbai in his directorial debut. One special thing about Akshat’s movies is that the focus is not on the setting but on the characters. Holike Delhi Belly, Kaalakaandi will also have dialogues in English and Hindi, and there will snippets of Marathi too! This time, with Kaalakaandi he promises a bigger mess and bigger entertainment than what we saw in Delhi Belly.
