Irrfan Khan starrer Blackmail has created a buzz since its first look was shared. The poster featured the actor bare-chested with his face mysteriously covered in a paper bag. Then, the official trailer for the film, released on Feb 22, further added to the appeal of the black comedy-drama. And now, the latest song has become a popular favorite within 24 hours of its release!
The song titled “Patola” is a rehash of the 2015 hit by popular Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa. Though most of the lyrics and the tune remain similar to the old version, there are a few differences that add a refreshing vibe to the foot-tapping number.
To begin with, it doesn’t include the parts that were contributed by Punjabi rapper Bohemia in the original song. Also, the beats of the song have been tweaked and paired with traditional dhol sounds that give it a peppy, Punjabi wedding-like flavor.
The new “Patola” video is all about the wedding scenes featuring the lead stars of Blackmail. Irrfan Khan appears as a modest groom while the bride, Kirti Kulhari, moves to the rhythm, enjoying a fun dance session. Guru Randhawa too is present throughout the video, flaunting his own quirky dance moves. He also joins the couple during their photo-opp.
